Dev Patel, the Indian-origin British actor bagged BAFTA for best supporting actor for his role in Lion. The movie is about an Indian boy and is adapted from the book “A Long Way Home” for which it also got the Best Adapted Screenplay honor.
The 70th British Academy of Film and Television Arts Awards were announced at the Royal Albert Hall in London. Dev Patel debuted with Slumdog Millionaire and went on to do many movies. He was earlier nominated for movies like Nocturnal Animals, Hell or High Water, Florence Foster Jenkins and Moonlight.
Lion is about an Indian boy who falls asleep on a train only to find out that he is miles away in an unknown land. He experiences many challenges and later sets out to find his lost family.
